About ennos
ennos is a Swiss clean-tech company founded as a spin-off of the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH). Building on decades of solar engineering expertise and field experience since 2016, we design and manufacture the sunlight pumps — high-efficiency surface solar pumps created to meet the real-world irrigation needs of smallholder farmers.
Today, our solutions are available worldwide through a strong and growing distribution network.
Our vision is a world where everyone has access to water for their domestic needs, but also to irrigate their crops and water their animals. ennos aims to make its award-winning sunlight pump widely accessible in regions of the world where water is lacking, but sunshine, a free source of power, is available in abundance.
Our Mission is to promote the use of CO2-free, economic solar pumps that combine income, productivity and labor-saving benefits and a more sustainable use of the resources energy and water.

Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. India has been manufacturing the sunlight pump under a license agreement with ennos since 2016. Being a market leader in the field of irrigation technologies, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. ensures highest manufacturing quality standards.
In 2024 ennos started the development of the new 1.5 HP Sunlight Pump in collaboration with NETZSCH Pumps & Systems Germany and Innovex Uganda.
NETZSCH South Africa is responsible for the production of the pump head and for the final assembly of the 1.5HP Sunlight Pump. This advanced industrial work strengthens South Africa’s manufacturing capabilities in renewable-energy technologies.
In Uganda, Innovex manufactures the controller for the 1.5HP Sunlight Pump and integrates its in-house IoT innovation, the REMOT Monitoring Unit (RMU). This combination of electronics production and IoT development contributes directly to Uganda’s growing technology ecosystem.

Our awards
The project entitled “Highly efficient, solar-powered irrigation pump” has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 809276. The project will be implemented between 1st of March and 30th June 2018
