In Madagascar, agriculture constitutes a significant portion of the economy and livelihoods. However, the country is highly vulnerable to climate shifts, and many rural areas face unreliable rainfall patterns, making water access for irrigation a key challenge.
Small solar pumps appear to be an excellent solution for farmers with access to shallow water sources, thus avoiding the exorbitant operating costs of conventional diesel water pumps.

This is why our long-standing distributor Mada Green Power (https://www.madagreenpower.com/) together with key partners like Practica, PROJET RIZ PLUS MADAGASCAR and FAO, are promoting sunlight pumps to smallholder farmers in the southern regions, but also in the northern regions.

The ease of installation and excellent performance of the sunlight pumps make them a very attractive option for farmers who want to irrigate their crops while in the fields, then bring the pump home for safe storage. Small mobile platforms designed for solar panels are also an interesting option for having fully portable equipment.
